University of Seychelles Programme
This degree will enable successful graduates to work as generalist social workers in a variety of government and non-government social-work organisations. The programme is designed to equip learners with the knowledge of core social work theories, skills and values to undertake assessments and devise appropriate intervention strategies when working with individuals, families, groups, and communities on a wide range of social issues. This undergraduate programme also provides an ethos of learning that recognises and appreciates the diversity of the population it serves.
This programme is for you if you want to:
- develop an understanding of social science beyond the core theoretical concepts;
- interact with communities and devise strategies to tackle a wide range of social issues;
- gain the competencies for a career that focuses on individual and societal well-being;
- engage with case materials in a stimulating learning environment.
To be eligible for a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Work) you must be aged 18 or above in the year of registration and satisfy the University’s General Entrance Requirements as well as the Specific Programme Requirements.
Have passed 2 UK GCE A-levels at Grade C or above Have passed UK GCSE/GCE O-level Mathematics at Grade C or above.
